When people first approach A New Genesis, they begin as inquirers. They relate with the community through contact with members, participation in community gatherings, experiences of prayer and social events. The community comes to know the inquirers and affirms their gifts for community and ministry.
CANDIDATES
Candidates journey with one or more sponsors
to continue personal and spiritual discernment. They deepen their understanding of the community's vision, history, charisms and mission.
MEMBERS
A New Genesis values the inclusion of vowed, non-vowed and associate members. Many profess the evangelical counsels of poverty, celibacy and obedience, which empower the vowed members to witness their religious identity in the midst of the people. Some members, while living the gospel counsels, may choose not to profess vows.
Associate members respond to God's call to live out their baptismal commitment. Their primary focus is fidelity to family and friends. These single or married persons share their gifts and talents with the community.
